In a moment that brought back major Disney Channel nostalgia, Olivia Rodrigo took a playful swipe at her former co-star Jake Paul during her Saturday Night Live monologue. Instead of firing back, the 29-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer chose to take the high road, praising Rodrigo’s skyrocketing career.
The two stars worked together a decade ago on the series Bizaardvark, and Rodrigo didn't miss the chance to highlight how much their lives have changed since their teenage years.

During her opening set, the 23-year-old singer joked about their "deep" conversations on set when she was just 13. She told the audience, “I’d say, ‘I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,’ and he’d say, ‘Well, one day I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix.’”
The joke was a direct reference to Paul’s recent high-profile boxing matches and his shift from acting to combat sports.
We had the vision ???? i told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did???? proud of you fr https://t.co/7oiujtd0iK

While some fans thought the joke was "shady," Paul took to Twitter/X to show there is no bad blood. Quoting a clip of the monologue, he wrote, “We had the vision… I told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did… proud of you fr.”
I got that she was making a joke at my expense. So what. She’s on SNL and that’s what they are supposed to do. Doesn’t change my admiration of her and her success.

When a fan pointed out that Rodrigo was likely laughing at him, Paul showed a rare moment of maturity. He responded by saying he understood the joke was at his expense but added, “She’s on SNL and that’s what they are supposed to do. Doesn’t change my admiration of her and her success.”
