Lionsgate has officially released the trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 3, and it promises a darker and more disturbing chapter in the horror franchise. The film is set to hit theaters on February 6, continuing the brutal story that left fans shocked at the end of Chapter 2.
The previous installment ended on a dramatic cliffhanger when Maya, played by Madelaine Petsch, managed to kill the stranger wearing the Pinup mask. However, the new trailer makes it clear that her nightmare is far from over.
In Chapter 3, the lead stranger known as Scarecrow, portrayed by Gabriel Basso, returns seeking revenge. This time, the tables are turned. Maya is forced to wear the iconic Pinup mask herself, marking a chilling role reversal that raises the stakes even higher.

The trailer reveals Scarecrow branding Maya with the familiar smiley face symbol and ordering her to kill hostages inside a hotel room. These disturbing scenes suggest that Maya is pushed to her emotional and moral breaking point.
Unmasked moments between Scarecrow and Maya also appear in a church, adding psychological tension to the story. Meanwhile, local police begin investigating the string of murders that have haunted the area for years.
Fans will also see more of Ema Horvath, who originally portrayed the Pinup stranger, as she returns for additional scenes in the third chapter. Director Renny Harlin has helmed all three films in the new trilogy, keeping the tone consistent throughout.
The first chapter was a remake of the 2008 horror classic originally created by Brian Bertino, while the new trilogy was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. Notably, this storyline does not follow the events of the 2018 sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night.
