Notably, the harrowing video has rapidly spread on social media, prompting widespread condemnation and demands for strict action against the perpetrators. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) alleged that after subjecting the women to such a degrading act, they were subjected to mass violence and called for severe action against the criminals.

Every possible effort was made to apprehend the culprits. A case has been registered against unknown armed miscreants at Nongpok Sekmai PS in Thoubal district for abduction, gang rape, and murder, and an investigation has commenced. The State Police are taking stringent action. The culprits will be arrested soon."
