Saturday Night Live is officially back for the 2026 stretch of its historic 51st season. After a short winter break following the star-studded holiday episode with Ariana Grande and Cher, the crew is returning to Studio 8H in mid-January.

The biggest date on the calendar right now is January 31, 2026. This marks SNL’s 1,000th episode, a feat very few shows in television history ever achieve. While the host and musical guest are still being kept secret, industry rumors suggest a "Homecoming" theme featuring legacy cast members and surprise cameos from the show’s legendary past.
If you notice the show missing from your TV in mid-February, don't worry—it’s just on a temporary break. NBC will be shifting its focus to the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics from February 6 to February 22. SNL will resume its regular live broadcasts on February 28.
This winter run feels a bit different as it marks the first set of episodes without Bowen Yang. The fan-favorite comedian officially wrapped up his run during the 2025 Christmas special. As the new cast finds its rhythm, all eyes are on the Season 51 finale, which is currently slated for May 16, 2026.
