On the Saturday Night Live (SNL) Season 50 finale, comedian Michael Che offered a funny yet heartfelt apology to Scarlett Johansson for a past joke that went too far. The joke, delivered by Johansson’s husband Colin Jost back in December, had compared her private parts to a Costco roast beef sandwich—and it left Scarlett visibly shocked.

The original joke aired during the show's classic “Weekend Update” joke swap, where Che and Jost write outrageous jokes for each other to read live. Jost delivered the roast beef line, clearly uncomfortable, while Johansson was in the audience and caught off-guard. She later called the joke “so vulgar” and “old-school gross,” admitting it made her uncomfortable.
During the season finale, Che invited Johansson on stage to apologize in person. He said:
"I was just lashing out because I'm jealous."
He added a self-deprecating joke:
"I've never even seen a human vagina—I once spent a summer on a farm."
The moment was clearly scripted by Jost and delivered in good humor, turning the awkward situation into a playful highlight of the finale.

Scarlett hasn’t forgotten the roast beef joke and hinted that she might get even. She joked that she plans to “burn Michael back” when she returns to host SNL again, teasing a future comedic showdown.
The roast beef bit has gone viral, becoming one of SNL's most talked-about—and cringeworthy—moments of the season.
