Glaser playfully targeted George Clooney’s long association with Nespresso. She joked about her coffee machine giving watery espresso and asked if it was a pod problem or a filter issue, all while praising Clooney as a longtime favorite.
While talking about Timothée Chalamet’s role in Marty Supreme, she joked that he had to bulk up for a film about ping-pong, turning the actor’s dedication into a funny highlight of the monologue.
Leonardo DiCaprio was another major focus. Glaser joked about his long and successful career, adding a playful dig about how he managed to achieve so much before his girlfriend turned 30. She even admitted that the joke was old but said people still mostly talk about that part of his life.
Glaser didn’t stop with celebrities. She also took a swipe at media organizations, including CBS News, using clever wordplay about “editing” to land a punchline that got a big reaction from the audience.
Sean Penn was described in a funny way, with Glaser joking that while everyone else tries to look younger, he seems to be slowly transforming into something stylish and rugged, like a “sexy leather handbag.”
Talking about Wicked: For Good, Glaser joked that Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande delivered powerful performances that left her emotional — and surprised there was still so much movie left.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart were also part of the fun. Glaser joked about their close partnership, calling Kevin Hart “The Rock’s plus one-half,” which got plenty of laughs.
One of the boldest lines involved a reference to the Epstein Files. Glaser joked about “A-listers” being on a redacted list, tying it back to her earlier jokes about editing and drawing strong reactions from the crowd.
Viewers quickly shared their reactions online. Many praised Glaser for not holding back, even on a major network. Some fans said her jokes were sharp but fair, while others loved how she addressed long-running celebrity jokes in a fresh way.
By the end of her opening monologue, Nikki Glaser had clearly set the tone for the Golden Globes 2026. Her fearless humor and smart observations made her one of the biggest highlights of the night.
