Finding Her Edge is finally making its way from BookTok shelves to Netflix screens, and fans of young adult romance are counting down the hours. The eight-episode series is based on Jennifer Iacopelli’s popular novel and blends competitive ice skating, emotional drama, and a slow-burn romance that BookTok readers can’t stop talking about.

The story follows Adriana Russo, a gifted ice dancer from a legendary skating family. Once considered the future of the Russo dynasty, Adriana stepped away from competition after the death of her mother. Now, with her family’s skating rink close to shutting down and her older sister sidelined by injury, Adriana is pushed back onto the ice when it matters most.

Things get even more complicated when she teams up with Brayden Elliott, a talented but cocky skater with a reputation to match. To secure a crucial sponsorship, the two pretend to be a couple — a move that quickly blurs the line between strategy and real emotions. At the same time, Adriana must face unresolved feelings for her former partner and first love, Freddie, who has moved on with someone close to her.

Beyond the romance, Finding Her Edge explores pressure, family expectations, and the struggle to reclaim your identity under the spotlight. While the plot leans into familiar YA tropes like fake dating, sibling rivalry, and love triangles, the ice-dancing setting gives the series its own visual charm.
Madelyn Keys leads the series as Adriana Russo, with Cale Ambrozic playing Brayden Elliott. Olly Atkins appears as Freddie O’Connell, while Alexandra Beaton, Alice Malakhov, Harmon Walsh, Millie Davis, Meredith Forlenza, and Niko Ceci round out the ensemble cast.
The show is directed by Shamim Sarif and Jacqueline Pepall, with Jeff Norton serving as showrunner and guiding the adaptation from page to screen while keeping the emotional core intact.
