Music duo Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr move to separate careers

Country music duo Maddie and Tae have announced that they are parting ways professionally after working together for more than ten years. The duo, consisting of Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr, shared the update this week.

Speaking to People, Maddie said the decision has been kept open-ended, adding that future collaborations remain possible. However, she explained that at this stage, continuing together does not feel aligned.

Maddie is now preparing to begin a solo music career. Taylor Kerr will shift her focus toward her family. She is married to songwriter Josh Kerr and is the mother of two children.

Both artists clarified that this is not a permanent breakup and that their personal relationship remains unchanged. They confirmed that their friendship will continue outside of their professional work.

Taylor described the decision as difficult and emotional, noting that making music had been her long-standing dream since childhood. Both singers expressed gratitude for the career they built together.

Maddie and Tae first met in 2010 during a vocal showcase. They began performing together soon after and signed their first record deal as a duo in 2014.
