Taylor Swift has shared a direct response to critics who say she’s too visible and should “go away.” The singer appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she spoke about her upcoming Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era, her friendship with Stevie Nicks, and the backlash she continues to face.

Swift said she admires people who build careers and relationships that last. She added that while many fans appreciate longevity, others feel she’s had enough time in the spotlight. “There are corners that say, ‘Give someone else a turn. Can’t you just go away so we can talk about how good you were?’ And I’m like, I don’t want to,” she said.

Swift has released or re-released at least one album every year since 2019. That pace has brought criticism, including claims that she crowds out other artists on the charts. Her comments also come after reports of a coordinated effort online to link her to extremist symbols and themes.

The AI-driven intelligence platform Gudea found a surge in posts accusing Swift of using coded references on her new album The Life of a Showgirl. The claims focused on a lightning bolt necklace in her merchandise line and selective interpretations of her lyrics. Between October 4 and October 18, more than 24,000 posts from over 18,000 accounts pushed the allegations.

As reported by The Guardian, these false claims were tied to broader conspiracy theories suggesting Swift promotes conservative values or is linked to the MAGA movement. The rumors contradict her public endorsement of Kamala Harris during the recent U.S. election.

Swift, meanwhile, continues to roll out new projects. She recently released the trailer for The Eras Tour: The Final Show, her upcoming concert film. The movie highlights the final stop of her Eras Tour at BC Place in Vancouver and includes the full Tortured Poets Department set.
