The Miss Universe 2025 pageant was supposed to be glamorous, elegant, and filled with world-class sparkle. Instead, it delivered one of the wildest viral moments of the entire competition — a moment that made Fatima Bosch walk out of the sash ceremony and turned the internet upside down.

It all happened during the official sash ceremony in Thailand, where Miss Universe executive Nawat Itsaragrisil confronted several contestants who missed a scheduled promotional shoot.
But when he reached Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, the confrontation instantly crossed the line.
In front of the entire room, Nawat called her out and accused her of disrespecting Thailand:
“Mexico, where are you? I heard you’re not going to support everything about Thailand. Is that true?”
Fatima calmly tried to explain, but Nawat immediately cut her off — then shockingly called her “dumb.”
The room fell silent. Contestants were visibly stunned. And Fatima? She refused to take the disrespect.
Nawat kept pushing, criticizing her for following her national organization’s instructions, and even questioned why she was “talking back.”
But the 25-year-old stood her ground with a clap-back that has since gone viral worldwide:
“As women, you need to show respect for us. I’m here representing a country, and it’s not my fault that you have problems with my organisation.”
The confrontation escalated when Nawat called security, trying to intimidate her into silence.
Instead, Fatima walked out — owning her power, not the room’s pressure.
And she didn’t walk out alone.

Dozens of contestants — including reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig — immediately got up and followed Fatima out of the room.
They ignored Nawat's demands to sit down “if they wanted to stay in the competition.”
This was no longer just a walkout.
It became a global solidarity moment.
Miss Universe President Raul Rocha later condemned the incident, leading to Nawat issuing a public apology.

As if the confrontational drama wasn’t enough, Fatima also faced a major physical setback before the finale.
She accidentally stepped on broken glass in her hotel room, leaving a shard stuck in her foot.
Rehearsals were back-to-back, leaving her almost no time for proper medical care.
Fatima managed to remove some of the glass, but one sharp piece stayed lodged inside, causing intense pain every time she walked on thin shoes or barefoot.
During a livestream, she confessed:
“It hurts so much. I’m pretty sure there’s a tiny piece still inside.”
But did she let that stop her? Absolutely not.
Supported by her fellow contestants — the same women who walked out with her — she pushed forward and stayed focused on the crown.
Congratulations to our new Miss Universe.
