Amazon has asked fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty to avoid visiting filming locations or sharing set details online while the upcoming movie is being filmed in North Carolina.
The request comes after several unofficial photos and videos from the movie set began spreading across social media. Fans have also been sharing filming locations and speculating about storylines from the final movie adaptation created by Jenny Han.
We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew. We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to… pic.twitter.com/SDtGlwhGvg

In a message posted on X, Amazon’s Prime Video account said the growing attention around filming locations was causing problems for production.
“We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” the statement said.
The company added that it is “working hard to create a protected bubble” so the team can focus on making the best movie possible.
The post also included a short beach video showing people writing “PRIVACY PLEASE” in the sand.
As excited as we all are for the movie, please let them film in peace. Interrupting filming only makes the cast and crew frustrated and prolongs the filming process. #TSITP #TheSummerITurnedPretty #TheSummerITurnedPrettyMovie #ChrisBriney #GavinCasalegno #LolaTung #CousinsBeach pic.twitter.com/5RfXETriS3

Photos featuring cast members Lola Tung and Christopher Briney have recently gone viral online. The actors play Belly Conklin and Conrad Fisher in the popular YA romance series.
Fans have been closely following every update connected to the movie, especially because it will serve as the final chapter of the story.
According to Variety, Amazon previously asked viewers to avoid online bullying and hateful behavior directed at the cast and creators.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Amazon TV executive Vernon Sanders spoke about setting clear expectations for fans.
He explained that large fan communities can sometimes cross boundaries between fictional characters and real actors. Sanders added that Amazon appreciates the passion of viewers but wants interactions to remain respectful and appropriate.
Since its debut in 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest young adult hits.
The love triangle involving Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah Fisher, played by Gavin Casalegno, attracted millions of viewers worldwide.
According to Variety, the third season premiere reached around 70 million viewers within 70 days after release last year.
Amazon later surprised fans by announcing that the story would continue with a movie instead of ending with the series finale. While the cast and Jenny Han have teased the project, the company has not officially confirmed the release date yet.
