Sadie Sink is finally sharing what she really thinks about the emotional ending of Stranger Things — and her answer may surprise fans.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, January 5, Sadie was asked directly about Eleven’s fate in the Stranger Things series finale. The topic has been heavily debated among fans since the final episode aired.

For context, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, is believed to have sacrificed herself to permanently destroy the Upside Down. However, the finale leaves room for interpretation. In the closing moments, Mike, portrayed by Finn Wolfhard, shares a theory suggesting that Eleven may have survived. The rest of the group chooses to believe him, ending the show on a hopeful but uncertain note.

In real life, that ambiguity has split the fanbase. Some believe Mike’s theory hints that Eleven is still alive somewhere, while others feel it’s simply a way for the group to cope with loss.
When host Jimmy Fallon asked Sadie for her personal opinion, she didn’t hesitate.
“I think she’s dead, I don’t know,” Sadie said, prompting audible gasps from the audience.
Jimmy agreed with her take, and Sadie went on to explain her reasoning. According to her, Mike’s story feels more symbolic than literal.
“I think that Mike’s story is just one last story. Then they say goodbye to childhood, but that’s just one final tale,” she explained. “I think it’s just like a coping thing. I think it’s stronger.”
Throughout the conversation, Jimmy echoed Sadie’s thoughts but also pointed out that the ending was intentionally left open to interpretation.
“Well, that’s my interpretation,” Sadie concluded, adding that fans are free to see the ending in their own way.
