Love Island USA contestant Sean Reifel is receiving support from his family after his short-lived connection with Beatriz Hatz came to an end.
Sean, 29, and Beatriz, 25, were among the first couples formed during the Season 8 premiere. The pair appeared to connect early on, even after Sean revealed that he is a single father.
While Sean openly expressed his interest in Beatriz throughout the episode, she later shared concerns about dating someone with a child.

Following the episode, Sean's mother, Beth Reifel Bow, shared her thoughts online after seeing criticism directed at the show's casting decisions.

Commenting on an Instagram reel, Beth thanked a fan who suggested producers may not have cast women who were open to dating a single parent.
According to Beth, Sean specifically asked about that topic during the casting process.
"THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!!!! While going through the interview process, Sean specifically asked about this," she wrote.

Beth also took issue with how Beatriz handled her concerns about Sean being a father.
In another comment, she said she wished Beatriz had been more direct with Sean instead of discussing her reservations with other contestants.
"The other part I didn't like was that she wasn't honest with him. Why talk s**t behind his back calling him a red flag but not tell him to his face," Beth wrote.
She added that while not everyone is a perfect match, people can still build meaningful friendships even if a romantic connection does not develop.

Sean's sister, Brice Marie, also weighed in on the discussion.
Responding to the same conversation online, she expressed support for her mother's comments and agreed with her assessment of the situation.
Brice has previously defended her brother against criticism from viewers since the season premiered.
During the premiere episode, Sean was upfront about being a father shortly after entering the villa.
He explained to fellow contestants that he has a son and moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to him.
Despite initially choosing to couple up with Sean, Beatriz later told the other women that dating a man with children was something she had generally avoided in the past.
She described the situation as a "red flag" but also said she was trying to remain open-minded while getting to know people in the villa.
The pair ultimately chose different paths when islanders were asked whether they wanted to remain with their current partners or explore new connections.
Sean indicated that he wanted to continue getting to know Beatriz.
Beatriz, however, decided to pursue other options and later developed a connection with bombshell Gabriel Vasconcelos.
After spending time together, Beatriz and Gabriel eventually recoupled during the second episode of the season.
Sean previously revealed that he is the father of a two-year-old son named Ravello, whom he shares with his former partner, Nicole Santiago.
The U.S. Sun reported that a judge recently granted both parents legal custody following a lengthy court case.
Sean has been open about his role as a father throughout his time on Love Island USA and shared that being close to his son was one of the reasons he relocated to Pennsylvania.
