Ariana Grande Joins Jessica Lange in American Horror Story 13
Season 13 of American Horror Story is shaping up to be a major television event. Ariana Grande has officially joined the cast of the FX anthology series, marking her reunion with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk nearly a decade after starring in their cult horror-comedy Scream Queens.
Alongside Grande, fans can look forward to the return of several beloved American Horror Story regulars, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Interestingly, both Roberts and Lourd co-starred with Grande in Scream Queens.

The announcement came through the Ryan Murphy Productions Instagram page, which posted a teaser video featuring a black screen and the cast names in the signature AHS font. The clip played to the haunting tune of Vera Lynn’s “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
Jessica Lange’s comeback has especially excited fans, as the Oscar-winning actress hasn’t appeared in the franchise since Season 8 (Apocalypse) in 2018. Similarly, Bassett, Bates, and Sidibe are returning for the first time in years, while Peters and Paulson last appeared in Season 10 (Double Feature) in 2021.

The reunion of so many fan-favorite stars has sparked speculation that American Horror Story: Season 13 could revisit one of its earlier storylines — particularly Season 3 (Coven). The show has previously tied past seasons together, such as in Apocalypse, which merged storylines from Murder House (Season 1), Coven (Season 3), and Hotel (Season 5).
The most recent installment, Season 12: Delicate, aired from September 2023 to April 2024. That season featured Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Kim Kardashian, Matt Czuchry, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Denis O’Hare, Cara Delevingne, Julie White, and Maaz Ali.
