HBO’s It: Welcome To Derry continues to expand Stephen King’s terrifying universe. The third episode, titled “Now You See It,” dropped on November 9, 2025 (November 10 in India), and fans are already buzzing online — mostly about its Stranger Things-style climax and questionable CGI.

Episode 3 takes us back to 1962, to the cursed town of Derry. It opens with young Francis Shaw at a carnival, trading his slingshot to a mysterious Native American woman, Rose, who gives him eerie visions that foreshadow something dark lurking beneath Derry’s surface.
In the present, Lily, trapped in guilt over Hank’s imprisonment, finds herself in Juniper Hill Asylum. She meets Ronnie, Hank’s daughter, and together they set out to find proof of Pennywise’s existence — the horrifying clown that has haunted generations.

The episode introduces Dick Hallorann, a telepathic investigator, who senses a sinister presence during a helicopter ride — people floating in the air, a haunting vision that connects directly to IT’s victims.
Meanwhile, an older Rose warns her son about a car wreck linked to the 1935 Derry massacre, tightening the web of mysteries surrounding the cursed town.

The kids’ nighttime adventure in the cemetery steals the show. Searching for proof, they encounter a terrifying creature. Ronnie captures a glimpse on camera — later revealed to be a clown, confirming Pennywise’s dark return.
This finale felt straight out of Stranger Things, with dim lights, foggy shots, and young heroes facing supernatural danger. It’s tense and nostalgic — but not everyone was impressed.
That last chase scene in this episode of it welcome to derry was so bad to me ???? a over done cgi mess. I’m still looking forward to what’s next but that scene felt like a bad episode of Scooby doo pic.twitter.com/JzYbiCoOKc

While many appreciated the suspense and performances, the pacing felt uneven. Some viewers loved the creepy atmosphere, but others slammed the CGI as “poor” and distracting.
Will always be seated for IT: WELCOME TO DERRY each week. Really dug the cold open flashback, and the claustrophobic vibes of the circus.

Hallorann stuff is getting interesting. Love the idea of the ghosts at the end but could definitely benefit from a more grounded FX approach. pic.twitter.com/8lYWF8T9WC
One fan posted, “Muschietti needs someone else to handle CGI — it ruins the tension!” Another wrote, “Why the awkward young-to-old transition? It breaks immersion.”
