Rapper Kanye West has taken to social media, urging President Donald Trump to release his longtime idol, Sean "Diddy" Combs. Combs, 54, is currently in jail, facing serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Kanye, 47, flooded X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram with posts demanding Combs' freedom, kicking off his campaign with a simple yet bold statement: "FREE PUFF."
West directly tagged Trump, pleading, "PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF." The rapper and the former president have had a controversial relationship, dating back to Trump’s first election win in 2016. They were famously photographed together at the White House in 2018, with Trump calling West a "complicated but really nice guy."
As West’s social media posts continued, he described Combs as his "idol" and "hero", urging fellow celebrities to support him. Meanwhile, Kanye stirred further controversy by announcing a Yeezy x Sean John clothing collaboration, selling merchandise priced at £17. The collection, featuring designs from Combs' 1988-founded brand, was reportedly agreed upon before Combs’ arrest.
Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested in September 2024 by Homeland Security and has been detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. He faces multiple allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering, with his trial set for May 5. While Combs maintains his innocence, additional civil lawsuits have surfaced, with allegations of assault involving minors.
