Miranda Lambert Steals the Show at the ACM Awards With Fresh New Sound

The Academy of Country Music Awards always brings big moments, but Miranda Lambert completely shifted the energy this year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Stepping away from standard acoustic sets, the Texas native delivered a high-octane performance that has social media buzzing.

Marking her first major release under MCA Nashville, Lambert debuted her new track, "Crisco." The song is an unexpected blend, mixing traditional country storytelling with the infectious groove of 70s disco.

Neon, Fringe, and a Disco Saddle

The stage production looked entirely different from anything else seen during the broadcast. Lambert performed inside a retro-futuristic set complete with glittering silver fringe, massive disco balls, and a glowing "Crisco" sign.

Dressed in a custom rhinestone-studded denim outfit, she leaned heavily into a "disco-honky tonk" aesthetic. The absolute highlight for fans online was a massive, rhinestone-covered saddle that acted like a disco ball, throwing light across the arena and instantly turning into a viral meme.

Blending Legends with a Modern Twist

The musical arrangement itself was massive. To bring the studio track to life, Lambert was backed not just by her usual touring band, but by an eight-piece live string section.

While the beat felt modern, the lyrics of "Crisco" actually ground the song in deep country history, paying direct tribute to icons like:

  • Loretta Lynn

  • Glen Campbell

  • Conway Twitty

While other artists took home the physical trophies during the broadcast, viewers widely agree that Lambert walked away with the entertainment crown. By bridging the gap between vintage Texas dancehalls and old-school studio 54 vibes, she proved once again why she remains one of the most innovative forces in modern country music.
