In Episode 3 of Murderbot, titled “Don't Be Suspicious,” the story takes a darker and more emotional turn. Murderbot, still reluctant to be part of the human team, is forced to guide the PreservationAux scientists across a dangerous planet. Their goal? To uncover what happened to a missing survey crew called DeltFall — whose entire team was found dead.

As the crew debates whether they should continue the mission, tensions rise. Dr. Mensah believes it’s their moral duty, while others are afraid they’re walking into a trap. Mensah also suggests that leaving now would only benefit the evil Company — something she’s not okay with.
Murderbot begins questioning what it really is — just a machine or something more? It finds comfort in watching its favorite soap opera, Strife in the Galaxy, trying to ignore its growing connection with the humans. But Ratthi, one of the scientists, tells Murderbot he thinks it might have feelings like a human — a thought that completely overwhelms Murderbot.

Things get worse when the base’s security system goes down and the humans discover that Murderbot has been secretly accessing their personal data. Most of the team begins to mistrust it — except for Mensah, who remains calm and tries to bring peace.
Murderbot investigates alone and finds the DeltFall team has been killed — not by accident, but likely by one of their own SecUnits (robot soldiers). However, Murderbot senses there’s more going on and that blaming a rogue unit feels too obvious.
The episode ends with a thrilling battle. A rogue SecUnit attacks the team, but Murderbot uses its combat experience and sharp instincts to defeat it. It proves once again that it’s more than just a machine — and maybe more human than it wants to admit.
This episode blends sci-fi action with emotional storytelling. Alexander Skarsgård delivers a powerful performance as Murderbot, capturing its awkwardness and deep inner struggles. David Dastmalchian also shines as the ever-suspicious Gurathin.
The highly anticipated series Murderbot premiered on Apple TV+ on May 16, 2025. Based on Martha Wells’s bestselling book series The Murderbot Diaries, this 10-episode show mixes science fiction, action, and comedy into one exciting story.
Alexander Skarsgård plays Murderbot, a security android who hacked its own control system to become independent. Instead of enjoying freedom like a human, Murderbot prefers staying alone and binge-watching soap operas. But when danger threatens the human team it’s assigned to protect, Murderbot must act—even if it doesn’t like being around people.
The show features a talented group of actors playing scientists and explorers:
Noma Dumezweni as Dr. Mensah – the wise and brave team leader.
David Dastmalchian as Gurathin – a tech expert with human upgrades.
Sabrina Wu as Pin-Lee – a scientist and legal advisor.
Akshay Khanna as Ratthi – a wormhole specialist who becomes friends with Murderbot.
Tamara Podemski as Bharadwaj – a geochemist.
Tattiawna Jones as Arada – a biologist.
Special guest stars include Clark Gregg, John Cho, DeWanda Wise, and Jack McBrayer, who appear in a fun “show within the show” called The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon—Murderbot’s favorite soap opera.
Apple TV+ released the first two episodes on May 16. New episodes come out every Friday through July 11, 2025, giving fans something to look forward to each week.
Viewers are loving Alexander Skarsgård’s unique take on the awkward yet powerful android. The mix of humor, emotion, and futuristic action makes the show stand out from typical sci-fi. Plus, the show stays true to the books with author Martha Wells working as a consulting producer.
