Daniel Curtis Lee, who played Simon “Cookie” Nelson-Cook on the show, located Chase in Los Angeles. The emotional reunion was shared online, where the two were seen hugging before Lee treated Chase to a hot meal at a local pizza restaurant. During the meet-up, Lee also connected Chase with Devon Werkheiser via FaceTime, allowing the former castmates to reconnect.
Sharing an update on Instagram, Lee wrote that Chase was “well fed and safe from the rain,” adding that a hotel room had been arranged. He also revealed efforts were underway to find long-term treatment options. Lee mentioned that Chase hopes to livestream video games in the future and asked followers if anyone could help make that possible.
After ensuring Chase had temporary shelter, Lee helped him reconnect with his father. Reflecting on the moment, he shared that sometimes love and human connection are the most important forms of support, saying the reunion with his father meant a great deal.

Support also came from Shaun Weiss, best known for his role as Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks. Weiss, who has openly spoken about his own recovery journey, said he received multiple messages about Chase. He reached out to contacts and confirmed that a detox bed and long-term treatment options were available.
Weiss also appealed to the public for help in locating Chase earlier, urging anyone who could meet him in person to get in touch so support could reach him quickly.
Werkheiser later shared that seeing his former co-star struggle was heartbreaking. He described Chase as a kind and sensitive person and spoke honestly about how difficult recovery can be, especially when addiction and mental health challenges are involved. He expressed hope that the renewed attention would help connect Chase with people who have the right resources and understanding.
