Sesame Street will now reach millions more kids and families worldwide through Netflix’s global platform.
Netflix now has exclusive global rights to premiere new episodes of Sesame Street. They will also have access to 90 hours of past episodes, giving fans a chance to enjoy classic content too.
We are excited to announce that all new Sesame Street episodes are coming to @netflix worldwide along with library episodes, and new episodes will also release the same day on @PBS Stations and @PBSKIDS platforms in the US, preserving a 50+ year relationship.

In a special move, new episodes will air on PBS and the PBS Kids app in the U.S. on the same day as Netflix. This is the first time in nearly 10 years that new Sesame Street episodes will debut on PBS at the same time as a major streaming platform.
Season 56 will bring a new look to Sesame Street. Each episode will now focus on a fun, 11-minute story to better fit short attention spans. Don’t worry — fan-favorite segments like Elmo’s World and Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck are coming back!
There are also exciting new additions like animated shorts called Tales From 123.
As part of the deal, Netflix will create video games based on Sesame Street and its popular spinoff, Sesame Street Mecha Builders. This means even more ways for kids to learn and play with their favorite characters.
This is a special partnership between Netflix, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Their goal? To keep Sesame Street’s mission alive — helping children grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.
This new deal is especially important for Sesame Workshop, which faced budget struggles after losing the HBO contract.
