Taylor Swift Sets Records with '1989 (Taylor’s Version)' Rerelease
Taylor Swift has set a new record with her album "1989 (Taylor’s Version)." Just one week after its release, the album became the top-selling album in the United States for the year 2023. It has also topped the Billboard 200, vinyl albums, and streaming albums charts, making Taylor the only artist to achieve this feat. This marks her sixth number-1 album debut with over 1 million units sold in history. "1989 (Taylor’s Version)" surpassed the first-week sales of the original 2014 release, making it the first Taylor Version to outperform the original.

This album is Taylor Swift's fourth rerelease of her earlier work, following a dispute with manager Scooter Braun over control of her masters. She has been re-recording her songs and labeling them as "Taylor’s Version," with previous releases like "Fearless (Taylor’s Version)," "Red (Taylor’s Version)," and "Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)." "1989 (Taylor’s Version)" includes all the original album's songs and five new vault tracks.
Two of her albums, "Taylor Swift" (2006) and "Reputation" (2017), are the only ones remaining from her catalog that have yet to receive rerecorded versions.
