In a surprising revelation, Taylor Swift reportedly played a role in the casting of It Ends With Us. Director and actor Justin Baldoni, along with actress Isabela Ferrer, confirmed in separate interviews that the pop star influenced Ferrer’s selection for the film.
During an old interview, Baldoni revealed that he consulted both Blake Lively and Taylor Swift while casting Ferrer as the younger version of Lively’s character, Lily. Swift, along with Lively, gave an enthusiastic approval, saying, "Yes! Her!" Ferrer later expressed her surprise at Swift’s involvement, calling it an unexpected honor.
Swift’s influence on the film extended beyond casting. She granted permission for her song My Tears Ricochet to be featured in the film’s trailer and soundtrack. Reports suggest that Blake Lively personally sought Swift’s approval, showcasing their strong friendship.

Swift’s name has been drawn into the ongoing legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. In January 2025, Baldoni sued Lively for defamation and extortion, claiming she used her connections—including Swift and her husband, Ryan Reynolds—to gain leverage. Lively allegedly referred to her powerful allies as "dragons," hinting at their backing in the dispute.
While Swift has yet to comment publicly, her name remains central to both the film’s casting and the ongoing controversy.
