At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift won the coveted Video of the Year award for her collaboration with Post Malone on "Fortnight."
Taylor Swift took a moment to praise her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce sweetly:
"Something that I'll always remember is that when I would finish a take, and I'd say, 'Cut,' and we'd be done with that take, I would always just hear someone like cheering and like [going], 'Whoo!' from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot, because I'll always remember that."
Swift also used her speech to encourage fans over 18 to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election, saying "If you are over 18, please register to vote for something else that's very important: our presidential election."
The "Blank Space" singer attended the VMAs solo, while Kelce was practicing with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the NFL player had previously expressed his support for Swift on his podcast, saying "Hopefully Taylor can walk away with a few—she's nominated for about 10 of those things tonight. Hopefully she can walk away with some Moon Men."
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in fall 2023 and have been spotted supporting each other at various events, with Swift cheering on Kelce at Chiefs games and the couple enjoying date nights in New York City.
