Paramount Pictures just dropped the full trailer for the highly anticipated reboot of The Naked Gun, and it’s already turning heads. Starring Liam Neeson as the clueless detective Frank Drebin and Pamela Anderson as his love interest, the movie promises a hilarious return to one of comedy’s most iconic franchises.

The original Naked Gun film from 1988 was based on the cult TV show Police Squad! and starred Leslie Nielsen as the bumbling detective. That film was a massive box-office hit and spawned two sequels: The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991) and Naked Gun 33â…“: The Final Insult (1994).
This new version brings back the ridiculousness and absurd humor, with Taken star Liam Neeson stepping into the famously goofy role of Frank Drebin — something fans never expected, but now can’t wait to see.

Pamela Anderson plays the romantic lead — a role originally played by Priscilla Presley. Speaking at the Zurich Film Festival, she said, “Liam is hysterical in it.”
Neeson also had nothing but praise for Anderson. “I’m madly in love with her… no huge ego, just funny and easy to work with,” he told People.
Joining them are Paul Walter Hauser as Captain Ed (a nod to the original played by George Kennedy), Danny Huston, Kevin Durand, and YouTuber-turned-actress Liza Koshy.
While Neeson is known for intense action roles, he admitted he’s a bit nervous about going full comedy. “It’s 95 to 100 minutes of pure comedy. That’s a challenge,” he said to Collider.

Still, fans are excited to see him swap the gun and growl for laughs and slapstick.
The reboot is in good hands — Akiva Schaffer, a member of the comedy group The Lonely Island, directs. The film is produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins, with a script by Schaffer, Dan Gregor, and Doug Mand.
