A new chapter from The Office universe is coming! The spinoff series, The Paper, is set to debut on Peacock in September 2025. This time, the story follows the same documentary crew from The Office, but they’re no longer in Scranton. Instead, they’ve moved to Toledo, Ohio, where they begin filming at a struggling local newspaper called The Truth Teller. The show captures the funny and heartfelt attempts to save the newspaper, with the help of passionate volunteers.
Good news for The Office fans — Oscar Nuñez is back as Oscar Martinez! Once the numbers guy at Dunder Mifflin, Oscar now works at The Truth Teller newspaper in Toledo. He’s part of the team trying to bring the struggling paper back to life.
Joining him are some exciting new characters:
Domhnall Gleeson as Ned, an idealistic new hire.
Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda, the tough but driven managing editor.
Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key also round out the new cast.
Though set in a different city, The Paper is closely connected to The Office through:
The same documentary film crew that followed employees at Dunder Mifflin.
Oscar Martinez, the only returning cast member confirmed so far.
The show shifts its focus from a paper company to a newspaper office, bringing a fresh but familiar feel.
While Steve Carell (Michael Scott) won’t appear, fans may still be in for surprises — some original cast members like Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey have visited the set, sparking hopes for cameos!
