Berlin returns with its second season this week as Netflix expands the world of Money Heist once again.

Titled Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, the new season premieres globally on May 15, 2026, nearly two years after the first season debuted. Netflix recently released teaser footage showing Berlin planning another dangerous robbery, this time centered around a famous artwork linked to Leonardo da Vinci’s Lady with an Ermine.

Release Date and Global Streaming Time

Netflix confirmed that the full season will arrive on Friday, May 15, 2026.

According to Netflix’s usual release schedule, episodes will become available at 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time. The platform is expected to release all eight episodes at once instead of using a weekly rollout.

Global release times include:

  • Pacific Time: 12:01 a.m.
  • Eastern Time: 3:01 a.m.
  • British Summer Time: 8:01 a.m.
  • Central European Time: 9:01 a.m.
  • India Standard Time: 12:31 p.m.
  • Japan Standard Time: 4:01 p.m.
  • Australia Central Time: 4:31 p.m.

What Is Season 2 About?

Set before the events of Money Heist, the new season follows Andrés de Fonollosa, better known as Berlin, as he assembles another team for a massive robbery in Seville.

This time, the mission reportedly focuses on stealing one of Europe’s most protected paintings. The storyline also introduces aristocratic rivals connected to the Duke and Duchess of Málaga, adding political tension to the heist.

According to Netflix’s early synopsis, the new mission will be more emotional and more dangerous than Berlin’s previous robbery.

Pedro Alonso Returns With Familiar Faces

Pedro Alonso returns as Berlin alongside cast members Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña Fernández, and Joel Sánchez.

Netflix also confirmed new cast additions, including Inma Cuesta, whose character appears closely connected to the artwork and the Málaga family.

Fans Expect More Action This Season

Some viewers previously criticized Season 1 for focusing heavily on romance instead of robbery planning. However, teaser reactions online suggest the new season may deliver more action, explosions, police chases, and large-scale vault operations.

According to Netflix promotional material, the new season places stronger focus on the heist itself while still exploring Berlin’s emotional side.
