The Producers Guild of America has officially announced the nominations for the 37th Annual Producers Guild Awards, a key milestone in the awards season that often shapes the Oscar best picture race.
Industry watchers closely follow the PGA Awards because the guild’s top prize — the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures — has a strong track record. In recent years, most Zanuck winners have gone on to win best picture at the Academy Awards, making this shortlist especially influential.
This year’s lineup features a mix of prestige filmmakers and major studio releases. Warner Bros. led the field with three full nominations and a fourth shared credit as co-distributor.
The nominees for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures are:
Bugonia
F1
Frankenstein
Hamnet
Marty Supreme
One Battle After Another
Sentimental Value
Sinners
Train Dreams
Weapons
Warner Bros. received expected recognition for One Battle After Another and Sinners, both of which have remained consistent performers throughout the season. The studio also gained momentum with Zach Cregger’s genre-leaning Weapons and shared a nomination for Joseph Kosinski’s F1, produced with Apple Original Films.

Several films appear to be gaining traction at a crucial moment. Train Dreams continued its steady rise after strong early festival reactions, while Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia remains a dark-horse contender. Meanwhile, Sentimental Value stayed in contention after missing earlier acting awards, alongside Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme and Chloe Zhao’s adaptation of Hamnet.

Despite strong box office performance, Wicked: For Good did not make the cut this year, even after its first installment earned PGA recognition previously. Sentimental Value stood out as the only non-English-language film nominated, leaving out titles such as It Was Just an Accident.
Other high-profile films that missed nominations include:
Avatar: Fire and Ash
Blue Moon
Song Sung Blue
Beyond theatrical films, the PGA Awards also recognized achievements across animation, television and streaming platforms. Animated nominees ranged from franchise sequels to original projects, while prestige dramas and comedies dominated the episodic television categories.
Limited series, documentaries, live programming and competition shows were also honored, reinforcing the Producers Guild’s broad reach across entertainment formats.
With Oscar nomination voting set to begin Monday, the Producers Guild Awards once again serve as a key checkpoint in a crowded and unpredictable awards season. The winners will be announced on February 28 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, offering one of the clearest previews yet of how the Oscar race may unfold.
