Meanwhile, Hurry Up Tomorrow, a movie starring and co-created by singer The Weeknd, struggled at the box office. It made only $3.3 million in its first weekend — far below its estimated $15 million budget (not including marketing). The film didn’t even make the top five movies in the U.S.
Critics gave Hurry Up Tomorrow a low 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many reviews called it boring, confusing, and too focused on The Weeknd himself. Despite his fame in music, his film debut hasn’t impressed audiences or critics.
