On Day 3 of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ court trial, the mood turned tense and emotional as Cassie Ventura, who is eight months pregnant, asked the judge for a break after being questioned with deeply personal and explicit text messages from her past relationship with Diddy.
Diddy’s attorney, Anna Estevao, began her cross-examination by asking why Cassie stayed with Diddy for 11 years despite the alleged abuse. She then showed a series of old texts Cassie had sent Diddy, including one saying, “I’m a very lucky woman,” and another where she asked for his attention.

But the courtroom became visibly uncomfortable when more intimate and sexual texts from 2009 were read aloud — including one where Cassie mentioned she was “ready to freak off” and another with strong language that left her shaken.
Her husband, Alex Fine, who is also the father of her children, was present in court and supported her throughout the session.
The defense is working hard to present Cassie as someone who was a willing participant in the relationship and activities, not a victim. They even questioned whether her 2023 rape lawsuit “ruined” Diddy’s career — to which Cassie calmly replied, “I could understand that.”
Diddy’s lawyers also brought up the topic of “Freak-Offs” — which Cassie described as times when she and Diddy were involved in sexual acts with escorts. The defense claimed these were part of a “swingers lifestyle,” but Cassie disagreed and said, “They’re very different.”
Cassie spoke about witnessing Diddy’s opioid withdrawal after those nights. She said he would get easily irritated, and his behavior would swing wildly. She described him as an addict and explained how his violent outbursts left her scared and confused.
She said, “The best way to describe it is his eyes just go black. The version I was in love with is no longer there.”
Prosecutors also shared a never-before-seen video and photos of a disturbing 2016 hotel incident where Diddy was seen physically attacking Cassie. For the first time, she revealed that this attack happened shortly after a “Freak-Off.”
