‘Ridiculousness’ Canceled by MTV After 46 Seasons

After 14 years on air, MTV has officially canceled “Ridiculousness” following an impressive run of 46 seasons. The long-standing comedy clip series, hosted by Rob Dyrdek, will continue airing first-run episodes already filmed through 2026, but no new episodes will be produced.

According to a source close to the decision, the cancellation comes as MTV, now under the Paramount Global banner, looks to revamp its lineup with a more curated slate of experimental and diverse content. Launched in August 2011, Ridiculousness quickly became one of MTV’s most recognizable series. Co-hosted originally by Chanel West Coast and later Lauren “Lolo” Wood, the show featured viral videos of failed stunts and pranks, while Dyrdek and his co-hosts provided comedic commentary and reactions.

Over the years, Ridiculousness became a cornerstone of MTV’s schedule, with reruns often filling large blocks of airtime. In fact, a 2020 Variety report revealed that Ridiculousness once accounted for more than 113 hours out of MTV’s 168-hour weekly lineup.

With nearly 1,700 episodes, the show remains one of the longest-running series in MTV history. Although new episodes won’t be produced, fans can still catch reruns on MTV and select seasons streaming on Paramount+.

The news of the show’s cancellation was first reported by TMZ, marking the end of an era for one of MTV’s most successful and longest-standing pop-culture staples.
