At Netflix’s Tudum 2025 event, the streamer revealed the long-awaited release dates for Season 5, marking the beginning of the end for the beloved sci-fi series. Fans will finally get to say goodbye to Hawkins, the Upside Down, and all their favorite characters.
Season 5 Release Schedule: Three-Part Global Finale
The fifth season will be released in three volumes over the 2025 holiday season, allowing fans to celebrate and grieve the end of an era together:
Volume 1: November 26, 2025 (4 episodes)
Volume 2: December 25, 2025 (3 episodes, Christmas Day)
Series Finale: December 31, 2025 (1 final episode on New Year's Eve)
All episodes will drop worldwide at the same time, creating a global event of emotion, nostalgia, and mystery-solving.

Plot Overview: The Calm Before the Final Storm
Season 5 is set in the fall of 1987, following the catastrophic opening of the Rifts. Hawkins is now under strict military lockdown, Vecna has vanished, and Eleven has gone into hiding once again.

As the anniversary of Will Byers’ original disappearance looms, the group must reunite for one final showdown. The Duffer Brothers confirmed that long-held mysteries—particularly those surrounding the Upside Down—will be answered, based on a secret 25-page mythology document written early in the series’ development.
