The new year has started with a ring — and a love story years in the making.

Influencer Carli Bybel is officially engaged to Brett Caprioni, a former cast member of Vanderpump Rules. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram on January 2, revealing that Caprioni proposed on New Year’s Eve.

Along with a series of photos from the special night, Bybel showed off her oval-shaped diamond ring and wrote, “Easiest yes of my life!!!!!! We’re engaged!!!!!!” The post was set to Teddy Swims’ song “You’re Still the One,” a fitting choice for a couple whose relationship has come full circle.

Caprioni responded in the comments with an emotional message of his own, writing that forever “isn’t long enough” and calling Bybel his dream come true.

A New Year’s proposal and a fresh chapter

In the photos shared online, the couple looked visibly overjoyed. Bybel wore a beaded white dress and flashed her engagement ring while sharing a kiss with Caprioni. Another image showed them celebrating beside a dessert table, complete with a yellow cake topped with a gold “engaged” sign and white flowers.

Bybel later reposted the moment on her Instagram Story, writing simply, “LOVE OF MY LIFE,” alongside Caprioni.

A reunion that surprised fans

The engagement comes less than three months after the pair confirmed they were back together. Fans were surprised in October when Bybel revealed that she and Caprioni had rekindled their relationship after years apart.

The two have known each other since kindergarten and originally began dating in 2013, back when Bybel was building her YouTube beauty career and Caprioni was working as a fitness creator. They eventually split in 2017, parting on good terms. At the time, Bybel explained that people sometimes grow in different directions.

He later wrote that their years apart were necessary — time to grow, change, and understand themselves better. According to Caprioni, reuniting wasn’t about starting over, but continuing a story that always felt unfinished.
