Love Island USA viewers are criticizing Beatriz Hatz after she decided to explore other connections despite initially coupling up with Sean Reifel during the Season 8 premiere.
The pair appeared to hit it off early in the episode after being matched during the show's opening coupling process. Even after Sean revealed that he was a single father, Beatriz seemed comfortable continuing to get to know him.

The two shared several kisses and appeared to have one of the stronger connections among the original couples. Aside from a difference in music preferences, there were few signs that their relationship was heading in a different direction.
Things changed when Beatriz spoke privately with the other women in the villa.
During a conversation with Trinity Tatum, she was asked how she felt about Sean having a child and whether she could see herself becoming a stepmother in the future.
Beatriz quickly dismissed the idea and described Sean being a father as a "red flag."

She explained that she had previously avoided dating men with children back home. However, she also said that getting to know someone in the villa did not necessarily mean entering a serious relationship and that she was trying to remain open-minded.
While Beatriz was expressing doubts, Sean was telling the other men how much he enjoyed getting to know her.
He praised her personality and athletic achievements and said he believed she would choose to remain coupled up with him.
Later in the episode, host Ariana Madix announced that the islanders would have to decide whether they wanted to stay in their current couples or explore new connections.
Sean chose to remain with Beatriz, but she made a different decision.
The situation changed further when Ariana introduced bombshells Gabriel Vasconcelos and Keyda.

The new arrivals spent time getting to know several contestants behind closed doors before deciding who they wanted to pursue.
Beatriz ultimately chose to explore a connection with Gabriel.
At the end of the episode, Gabriel selected both Beatriz and Trinity, leaving their original partners unaware of the decision.
The episode sparked strong reactions from viewers on social media, with many questioning Beatriz's decision.
Several fans pointed out that Sean had been upfront about being a father from the moment he entered the villa and felt it was unfair for Beatriz to describe it as a red flag after choosing to couple up with him.
Others criticized her for discussing her concerns with other contestants instead of speaking directly with Sean.
Comments shared online showed support for Sean, with some viewers praising him for being honest about his personal life from the start.
Sean revealed during the premiere that he has a two-year-old son named Ravello with his former partner, Nicole Santiago.
He also shared that he relocated to Pennsylvania to be closer to his son.
Ahead of the Season 8 premiere, Sean faced criticism online from some viewers who questioned his decision to leave his job and spend time away from his son in order to appear on Love Island USA.
