John Brenkus, the popular host of Sport Science, has sadly passed away at age 54 after struggling with depression. His family shared the news on May 31, 2025, and asked for privacy during this tough time.

Brenkus was known for his Emmy-winning show Sport Science on ESPN and Fox Sports. He combined sports with science to explain amazing athletic feats. He also co-founded Base Productions and started the sports streaming service Brinx.TV.
In 2023, Brenkus spoke openly about his deep depression and how his dog helped him during a dark moment. He reached out for help and encouraged others facing similar struggles to do the same.
After his passing, many sports stars and fans sent their prayers. Former NFL player Robert Griffin III and Brenkus’s Brinx.TV partner Marcellus Wiley shared heartfelt messages online.
