Stranger Things Season 5 has officially entered Netflix history.
With the release of its series finale on New Year’s Eve, the final season has now landed at No. 9 on Netflix’s list of the most popular English-language TV series of all time, pulling in 105.7 million views so far, according to Netflix’s latest data.
The season became eligible for the all-time chart only after the finale dropped. Netflix measures this list based on a title’s first 91 days of viewing, and for split releases like Stranger Things, each batch of episodes gets its own 91-day window.
Volume 1 of Season 5, which premiered on November 26, will continue collecting views through February 24. Volume 2, released on December 25, will count through March 25, while the finale itself will be tracked until March 31. That means the show still has months left to climb higher.

At its current position, Stranger Things 5 pushed Fool Me Once off the chart and moved past Season 1 of The Night Agent.
Season 4 of Stranger Things, released back in 2022, continues to hold strong at No. 3 with 140.7 million views, trailing only Wednesday Season 1 (252.1 million) and Adolescence (142.6 million).

Given that Season 5 delivered Netflix’s biggest-ever opening for an English-language series, debuting with 59.6 million views, it’s not unrealistic that the final season could eventually challenge for the top spot.
For the week of December 29 to January 4, Stranger Things 5 was the most-watched title on Netflix, pulling in 31.5 million views even though the finale had only been available for five days.
Netflix did not break out numbers for the finale alone, but the total may have been higher if not for the streamer’s unusual move to release the finale simultaneously in theaters. That theatrical run reportedly earned more than $25 million.
Interest in the series also boosted earlier seasons. All four previous seasons charted again for the sixth straight week, with Season 1 ranking No. 3, Season 2 at No. 5, Season 3 at No. 7, and Season 4 at No. 8.

Beyond Stranger Things, the Netflix Top 10 for the same period included Run Away, which debuted at No. 2 with 12.7 million views. Season 5 of Emily in Paris came in at No. 4 with 7.4 million views.
Stand-up also made a strong showing, with Ricky Gervais’s special Mortality debuting at No. 6, followed by Man vs. Baby and Dave Chappelle’s latest special rounding out the list.
For now, Stranger Things Season 5 isn’t done yet. With plenty of time left in its eligibility window, the final chapter of the sci-fi hit could still rewrite Netflix’s record books once again.
