The chaotic journey of The Boys has officially crossed the finish line on Prime Video. With the release of Season 5, Episode 8, titled "Blood and Bone," the most controversial superhero satire on television has come to an end.

As the screen faded to black after an hour of absolute carnage, thousands of fans faced the classic streaming dilemma: Do I sit through the rolling names, or is it safe to close the app?
In an era where modern superhero media uses post-credits scenes to sell their next project, showrunner Eric Kripke decided to break the rules one last time.
If you are waiting for a shocking plot twist, a surprise character resurrection, or a direct teaser for a new villain, you can stop waiting. The series finale does not feature a traditional narrative post-credits scene.

Instead, the creators utilized that final screen time for something far more grounded. The credits feature an emotional, behind-the-scenes video package dedicated entirely to the crew members, production teams, and stunt coordinators who worked behind the camera for nearly a decade. It functions as a moving final curtain call for the crew, rather than a commercial for a spin-off.

The choice to skip a future-focused teaser makes sense when you look at the absolute devastation left behind in the final episode. The writers chose to kill off almost every major player to ensure the story concluded permanently:
The Fallen Gods: The toxic rivalry between Homelander (Antony Starr) and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) ended in mutual destruction, with Hughie (Jack Quaid) forced into a heartbreaking final act.

The Survivors' Fate: The remaining members of the squad received quiet, definitive endings. Annie and Hughie are focusing on their future family, while Kimiko chooses a solitary life in France to honor Frenchie’s memory.
While this specific storyline is over, the universe will expand backwards. Prime Video has already greenlit Vought Rising, a prequel series set to debut in 2027 starring Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) and Aya Cash (Stormfront).
Because that upcoming show takes place decades in the past, there was no logical way to tease it at the end of this modern-day bloodbath. If you watch the credits of the finale, do it to appreciate the crew who built the show—not for a secret scene.
